Squacquerone is a cheese fresh and creamy white colour typical of Romagna. The name originates from dialect squaquaron, indicating the high “watery” of this cheese that, being very soft, tends to assume the shape of the object in which it is contained. Very similar to stracchino or the growth, but the consistency more liquid and there is no crust.
Made from whole cows milk, it is an extremely soft cheese making it easily spreadable. Squacquerone is not cured, and therefore must be consumed within a few days of production (3 or 4).
